He is principally responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the agency business and for delivering business objectives and profit targets.

He provides Oliver Hume with a unique blend of financial, operational and strategic expertise, having held executive roles in some of Australia’s most recognised companies including Grocon, Sigma Pharmaceuticals and KPMG.

In his role as Chief Operating Officer he plays a critical role in aligning the management, staff and operations with the strategic direction of the business. This alignment includes ensuring the business maintains a strong service culture, operates efficiently and effectively and continues to embrace technology and innovation.

The role also includes identifying and managing critical risks including financial risk, risk associated with specific transactions and external risks that have the capacity to impact the business’ strategic direction or financial strength.

Julian works directly with senior management within the agency business to focus on initiatives that grow the business with the confidence they are supported by the operational and financial frameworks to meet and exceed clients’ expectations.

When Julian was Chief Financial Officer for the group he was responsible for overseeing and improving a range of core functions across the business, including finance, human resources, technology and risk management.

After graduating from RMIT with a Bachelor of Business, Julian commenced his career with leading accounting firm KPMG, where he spent seven years in the assurance division primarily focusing on the property industry.

He was appointed Group Financial Controller of listed pharma group Sigma Pharmaceuticals in 2007 before being appointed in 2010 as Chief Financial Officer of Australia’s largest privately owned construction development company, Grocon.
