Michael Duster is the Managing Director of Oliver Hume Corporation with primary responsibility for implementing the company’s strategy, overseeing the senior executive management team and maintaining high standards of customer service.
He is one of Australia’s most experienced and successful property industry entrepreneurs and executives with an intricate knowledge of all facets of residential real estate.
His commitment to innovation and his passion for nurturing relationships through trust and delivery underpins Oliver Hume’s corporate culture of service and success and has made him one of the industry’s most respected executives.
Under Duster’s leadership Oliver Hume has grown from a small real estate services firm into a highly diversified, international business with large-scale operations in the sale and marketing of new communities and medium and high density developments, the acquisition and sale of development sites, asset management, research and property funds management.
In 2015, Oliver Hume sold more than 6000 properties at 90 different projects across the eastern seaboard of Australia and international markets.
Duster joined Oliver Hume in 1981 and was appointed Managing Director in 1983. In 2004 he founded Oliver Hume Property Funds where he is Executive Chairman.
Despite the increasing scale and diversity of the business, Duster maintains a hands-on approach to management, providing clients and partners with access to his extensive experience and industry contacts.
He personally oversees all of Oliver Hume’s large development site transactions and works closely with clients to plan and develop projects to ensure their success.
He is a strong advocate of the value of research and gaining an in-depth understanding of industry and consumer trends across all sectors of the property market. The company’s research strengths provide the platform for intelligent, well-informed decision-making in the evaluation of residential development and investment opportunities.
Along with his roles as Managing Director of Oliver Hume Corporation and Executive Chairman of Oliver Hume Property Funds, Mr Duster sits on the board of various other development companies in order to provide strategic advice at a corporate level, drawing on his extensive experience in property development and real estate transactions.
